I saw a product review video on youtube on the Work Sharp Knife and Tool Sharpener (WSKTS) and decided to give it a try. Over the years, I've pretty much been a stone and/or ceramic stick guy. I've owned various natural and diamond stones. I own a Lansky system, but find it too clunky. Also, the clamp never seemed to hold all my knives very securely. As of late, I've been using a Spyderco Tri-angle Sharpmaker with much success. I typically used the ceramic sticks freehand because different knifes are made with different angles and they frequently don't match up with preset angles on sharpeners.
OK, on to the WSKTS. This thing is basically a hand held mini-belt sander. This sharpener puts a convex grind on knives due to the tension of the belts. The head rotates from a table top position to various positions intended to be used free hand. I've sharpened all kinds of knives and even my lawnmower blade with excellent results each time. Haven't tried scissors yet. Yesterday I sharpened several older knives and was done in a few minutes. Last week I even sharpened my 3 Cold Steel Kukri's and 1 machete with hair-popping success.
There was a small learning curve/technique issue not mentioned in the included DVD. Don't push your blade towards the belt while drawing it through the guides. This will round the point. You should draw the knife keeping light pressure away from the belt and towrds the guide. Being a belt grinder though, I ran the belt down the spine at the tip to get my point back. Other than that, I'm extremely pleased with the versatility and ease of use. Yes it has guides with preset angles, but you can quickly conform a blade to the guide angle by letting the grinder do the work.

After some time without a working disposal and years of cheap disposals, I finally treated my parents with A REAL GARBAGE DISPOSAL. I cannot speak on the long term durability of it because I just got it working yesterday but so far I am very impressed. When the electrician installed it, he had to double check that it was on and working because it is so quiet! You will see in the video; pretty much all you can hear is the water running.
I actually did two videos, this one was first and then about 30 min later I did another longer video with LOTS more stuff (smoked sausage w/ skins, grapes, yogurt and rock hard pork chops). I did this video because I had not found any online that show it doing what it claims so here you go! I ground two chicken thighs (bones included) to test their claims. Trust Me; they ARE NOT LYING!!
I will admit that after round II, I was running it while washing my hands and it turned off automatically. I was horrified! Turns out, it is smart enough to shut-off when it has overheated instead of simply burning up. The motor was too hot to touch (for more than 2 seconds) so I put ice-cubes down the sink and ran cold water. It sat for an hour or so and then I simply pushed the reset button and it was back to normal! With the 7 year warranty, I was comfortable testing their claims and I am happy. Well worth my money! The electrician, my mom and dad were all in disbelief when they saw this in action.

This Wok has some serious heat. As a professional chef with Asian style recipes on the menu I've used many a stove top wok. Until now I'd never found an electric wok that could generate enough heat to sear in the flavors of meats and vegetables. Not only does the Breville Electric Wok deliver as much heat as a top of the range stove top wok, its surface is non-stick so I can use less oil for healthier results. Every thing about the wok is clever, from the detachable base, to the dishwasher safe parts, to the cook and look glass lid. Whoever designed this is in to wok cooking in a big way.

That being said, I have noticed that the non-stick surface has a lot of surface scratches and I use a plastic spatula. Yesterday, I made Beef Lo Mein and the pan was just as great as beforehand. However, upon washing it up in the sink, I noticed that a piece of the non-stick had peeled off. My experience with that coating suggests that this will continue to occur as I use the appliance more often. This is very disappointing as this is the best performing wok that I have ever used. I'm crossing my fingers hoping that the non-stick won't continue to peel. That would certainly betray the overall performance of an otherwise excellent appliance.

at first, its price may be offsetting, it is a fantastic device and made of high quality materials. Most breadmakers are too large and end up being stored in the closet, but this machine is small, sleek, and bakes perfect loaves of bread. It is the same width as my toaster and is small enough to keep out on an apartment kitchen counter. The loaves on regular cycles take between 3:40-3:00 to bake, but it has a timer and a "keep warm" feature. It is quiet and an 8-year old could easily operate its simple push button controls.
It has an even-heating element, and a good quality, heavy, non-stick baking pan, which is a snap to clean up. It has a pasta/cookie dough feature and a jam (!) feature. The tiny paddle is actually surprisingly efficient at making dough for cookies and such.
One caveat: It bakes a small, vertical loaf of bread and a 1 LB loaf is smaller than you think it is. So the "rounded" part on top takes up about 1/4 of the entire loaf. Also, your bottom slice will have a gaping hole where the paddle bakes into it. While this is not much of a problem for a large 2 LB loaf, for this small loaf, it is a bit of a waste.
We have had a Zojirushi since the early 90's and although we found it consistently made excellent bread, it wasn't getting used very often because it was large and the 2LB loaves simply weren't getting eaten. After downsizing, we found that this breadmaker is fabulous because it makes small enough loaves that you can experiment with tons of different recipes and throw away a botched recipe without feeling bad about waste.

First of all it's not perfect. The non-stick coating is thin on the pan, and can get scratched off easy. Plus, there's no easy way to clean off the brown, spots you get from baking. All that aside, this is a great device if you like homemade, and frozen varieties of pizza.
I used to try all kinds of tricks to get a frozen pizza to taste good. I'd microwave them partially first, I'd bake them directly on the oven rack; I'd try greasing the pan, or not greasing it. I had some success with these techniques, but it was a lot of work. This oven does the job, and gets the pizza cooked the way you want it. An easy flip switch on the top, can turn the heat on both sides, just the top, or just the bottom. You control the crispness, and the degree of browning on your pizza.
This oven is also great for baking those commercial, "take and bake" pizzas, from shops like Pappa Murphy's. Further, its better for reheating leftover pizzeria pizza than your microwave. What more can you want? I wanted just one thing, a 14" model. While most frozen pizza is 12" or smaller, you cannot heat one any larger. One final caution, rising crust pizzas will sometimes bubble, or rise into the top-heating element. It's a good idea to stay in the general area while the pizza is cooking, or it can potentially start a fire.

Fasta Pasta The Microwave Cooker
I've been boiling various pasta noodles, at least twice a week, for over 25 years. When I first saw the FASTA PASTA microwave cooker internet demo video, I was a bit skeptical but interested enough to purchase the product from Amazon.com. After using the product three times, I can honestly say that it not only cooks pasta very fast but better, with less mess and energy, than pot boiling the noodles. Just follow the simple instructions and you will have perfectly cooked pasta without having to check it while cooking for readiness. I wish that this product had been invented years ago. My ONLY minor negative comments: 1. FASTA PASTA can only cook up to four pasta servings at one time, which makes its use for a large group impracticle. 2. The water measurement lines are a bit difficult to see when water and pasta is added to the cooker. Adding color to these lines would make them easier to see.
